RT Media branding agency, celebrates 10 years – Ross Thornley speech at the BSO concert

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

RT Media celebrated its 10th anniversary in style at this year’s ‘Galactic Classics’ performance by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) at the Firework Proms at Meyrick Park. Over 60 clients and guests gathered in a private marquee to enjoy themes from Star Wars, Star Trek, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Avatar and Doctor Who, amongst others.

Ross Thornley, company founder and creative director at RT Media, said: “Our clients, staff and supporters have played such an important role in our continued growth and success over the last ten years and we wanted to say thank you in a way that reflected us as a business. A night at the Proms was the perfect occasion – a relaxed atmosphere with an amazing performance from the renowned BSO, and a fireworks finale. Just how we like to do things!”

Founded in June 2000, RT Media undertakes creative campaigns, branding and digital marketing for a client base spanning international, national and regional clients of all shapes and sizes. The last decade has seen the company grow organically from humble beginnings to a 10 strong team, covering branding expertise, creative design, innovative web strategy and strategic account handling.

Carolyn Hynard, Campaign Specialist from Sony “We have worked with the team at RT Media for the past eight years, they have provided us with excellent service, supported us with our marketing needs and it’s a pleasure to work with them, they are a great team of people.”

Local company, New Driver’s directors Sasha and Alan Morgan said: “Many thanks to all at RT for such a wonderful event – we had a great evening. New Driver was re-branded as a result of winning a brand audit with RT Media. The audit didn’t just look at our external image it also gauged our core values. The outcome was that we are now in a stronger position, which is reflected in our overall branding.”

Ross Thornley personally thanked his parents at the event, since he first started the business at their home working alone in 2000, employing his first member of staff in 2002. Ten years on, RT Media has a suite of offices in Wimborne and employs a talented team with the right skill set to maintain its offering across the full marketing communications mix.

Ross adds: “We have worked hard to ensure a very high client retention rate, with more than forty per cent of our clients having been with us for more than five years. We are in the strongest position to grow a portfolio of clients at this level, with the firm foundation, staff and resource to continue to build a strong and progressive business, doing great work for our clients. I’d like to thank everyone who has played a part in our success to this point, especially as we are looking at such an exciting future.”

Social Media Frees ‘Democracy Now!’ from Arrest – Amy Goodman

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Complete video at: http://fora.tv/2009/11/15/Amy_Goodman__Denis_Moynihan_Breaking_the_Sound_Barrier

“Democracy is a messy thing,” says Amy Goodman. The Democracy Now! host revisits her controversial arrest while covering a protest at the 2008 RNC. She praises social media sites like YouTube and Twitter as guardians of free speech.

In the Gallery: Amy Goodman and Denis Moynihan talk about Breaking The Sound Barrier. Amy Goodman, award-winning host of the daily internationally broadcast radio and television program “Democracy Now”, breaks through the corporate media’s lies, sound bites, and silence in this wide-ranging new collection of articles.

In place of the usual suspects—the “experts” who, in Goodman’s words, “know so little about so much, explain the world to us, and get it so wrong”—this accessible, lively collection allows the voices the corporate media exclude and ignore to be heard loud and clear.

From community organizers in New Orleans, to the courageous American soldiers who’ve said “No” to Washington’s wars, to the victims of torture and police violence, we are given the extraordinary opportunity to hear ordinary people standing up and speaking out. – Book Passage

Amy Goodman is the host and executive producer of Democracy Now!. She is co-author of the national best-seller The Exception to the Rulers: Exposing Oily Politicians, War Profiteers, and the Media that Love Them written with her brother David Goodman.

Democracy Now! is a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program airing on over 300 stations in North America.Pioneering the largest public media collaboration in the U.S., Democracy Now! is broadcast on Pacifica, community, and National Public Radio stations, public access cable television stations, satellite television (on Free Speech TV, channel 9415 of the DISH Network), shortwave radio and the internet.
