Not quite. Current …
Not quite. Current assignment patch he’s wearing (left sleeve, the Screaming Eagle) is 101st and his combat patch (right sleeve, All-American) is 82nd. He’s wearing ACUs, which is the Army-wide uniform, not specific to service in Afghanistan.

@mrsdicaprio22 I’ve just found out that he was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and i also know that he was stationed in Afghanistan because the colors of his battle fatigues match Afghanistan’s environment.

Why is the POST 9- …
Why is the POST 9-11 GI BILL phone number a joke? I have been calling that number for several months. It is the same BS all of the time, you are on hold for ten minutes with recordings and then it says, “due to a high volume of calls we cannot assist you, please call back another time.” And then it hangs up on you. How many months is this going to go on into the year of 2010 and beyond? How long are the lies going to continue with under-staffing and constantly using Americans?

This is one well …
This is one well made ad. For me, I think the “alone” part is coming home to a fat, dumb, happy country obsessed with Starbucks, shopping, and nonsense ‘reality’ TV. You really would have no clue we were in two shooting wars. 90% of the population could tell you the latest on the NFL, Nascar, Usher or Britney but couldn’t find Iraq on a map. Vet of Iraq & Afghanistan at 40, the young troops like this kid are A+. We shouldn’t go to war unless it is important enough for EVERYONE to pay attention.

i respect this and all but i think its funny that a Marine Walks up to a Army Soilder when all they do in iraq is talk about the army
January 12th, 2010 at 4:44 pm
You’ll feel really …
You’ll feel really out of place when you first get back. Walking around in civilian clothes, no weapon, people around you driving like idiots…
Just remember you’re not the only one who’s been through it before. There are others who’ve been there and will know how you feel.

everyone that …
everyone that returns from Iraq or Afghanistan as in R and R will feel alone, if they dont have a USO or something at their airport… I’ve felt the same way, you start seeing the Big Picture feeling like you dont belong. Only till someone shakes your hand or when you get picked up by family…

Love the commercial, the meaning, and the music.
My brother is in southern Afghanistan right now. I, too, hope he doesn’t feel alone when he gets home. But, I love the idea of a community for veterans. Sort of like a support group. it’s nice to know it’s out there when a veteran needs to talk to someone who’s “been there.”
